Perhaps we don’t even realize what a treasure trove we live in here in Eger. The phrase “the Rome of Hungary” is often used in connection with Eger, but it was something else entirely when I heard it with my own ears from a young tourist girl who said the exact same thing to her father: “Dad, Eger is just like Rome.” Do we need anything more than that?
